Classifying Two-Dimensional Figures
In this unit students
• understand attributes of and classify two-dimensional figures;
• graph points on the coordinate plane to solve real-world problems.
Students understand attributes of two-dimensional figures and use those attributes to classify figures. This builds on the work in Grade 4 with two-dimensional shapes and their characteristics. Students also learn how to graph points in the first quadrant in the coordinate plane and use that knowledge to solve real-world and mathematical problems.
